The connection between spiritual wellness and mental/physical wellness is that we must have the first before we can have the second and third. This means that if people want to be mentally and physically well then they must first be spiritually well. If they can achieve this ability then their mind, body and spirit will become balanced and optimal health will occur.
This has manifested in my life because I have not acquired spiritual wellness. This lack of balanced wellness has caused me to experience undesirable mental and physical symptoms. These negative symptoms include periods of anxiety, depression, fatigue and mood swings. I am hoping that I will be able to implement these practices so that one day, I will experience optimal health and these negative symptoms will vanish.
Hi Susan, as they say consistent, intentional practice is whats required to attain spiritual flourishing. I am truly grateful that we have this opportunity to lead the way in integral health, in a sense this integral health business is the best news I have heard in a while, all we need to do is cultivate loving-kindness, be grateful and forgiving, tame the mind and health, wholeness, and happiness will fallow. I know its not easy but I am willing to practice.

Susan,
ReplyDeleteI also think in order to have mental and physical wellness you must have spiritual wellness as well. I think they feed off of each other and if one is out of whack then it will eventually affect the other two. Every thing in our body feeds off the other. They all work together in order to allow us to function. We cannot just focus on one part of wellness and expect it to fix the issue. We have to work on all three as a whole and find the root of the issue before we can even attempt to fix the issue if there is one.
